Every Friday I take my favorite spin-and-lift class at Hype Fitness. From there, it’s a short drive to Naturewell where I get my protein smoothie (with strawberries). If I have some time, I’ll mosey down Sunset to grab essentials at Credo Beauty or window-shop at Sunset Row. And if it’s projected to be a beautiful day, I want to spend as much time outside as possible, so I might head to the pool at Silver Lake Inn, or grab a bottle of wine from Wine Stop and meet friends for a picnic at Silver Lake Meadows.
One of my all time favorite products is Canyon Coffee’s instant coffee packs. It has saved me on multiple flights and camping trips to ensure I still have a great cup of coffee while traveling, which is crucial to having a good day in my book. They’ve also opened an Echo Park café, which I feel so spoiled to have in my backyard. Hot tip: Co-founders Casey and Alley also have the best travel guides downloadable on the Canyon website!
I just got my first two-piece in years from LA-based swimwear brand (and JBC client!) Left On Friday. After having my daughter three years ago, I didn’t think I’d ever wear a two-piece again, but their bikinis make me feel like a Sports Illustrated cover model.
Speaking of supermodel summer, Dawn Tracy at Mare is the ultimate go-to color genius who keeps me blonde and sane.
I live on the Westside, and when I venture over the 405, it’s typically only for work or food — specifically Sushi Fumi and its truffle salmon sushi. A pro tip is once you put your name in, cross the street to the unmarked door of The Roger Room for a cocktail that takes just as much time to drink as the wait usually is for Fumi!
I have two picks:
1) Suay Shop: “Remade in LA” is Suay’s motto and they’re sticking to it. Suay sells upcycled garments and home goods, hosts neighborhood “dye baths,” and has diverted over 3.7 million pounds of textiles from landfills by imagining chic new lives for our “garbage garments.” I’ve been eyeing one of their organic cotton body beds for my home, and I adore their linen placemats. Long live Suay!
2) Rael: Dually headquartered in Los Angeles and Seoul, this Korean-founded brand (and JBC client) has made its way into my permanent rotation. Their clean skincare has become a staple in my routine, and I can’t live without their period panties when it’s that time of the month.
Everyday comfort that feels like a luxury? Yes, please. I swear by Parachute’s linen bedding — it’s breathable, beautiful, and makes climbing into bed feel like a five-star moment. Bonus points for its thoughtful recycling program, which lets you give well-loved linens new life while caring for the planet. Cozy and conscious.
Southwest Bread is one of those true hidden gems tucked away in downtown El Segundo. It’s female-founded, community-minded, and baking some of the best bread in town. Everything is made fresh daily, and it will sell out, so locals know to get there early. From crusty sourdough to unexpected seasonal flavors, every loaf is packed with care and craft. A neighborhood favorite worth discovering.
